For decades, women’s health issues like menopause have been shrouded in silence, with the experiences of women of color often left out of the narrative. Dr. Stephanie Young Moss’ journey from the structured world of corporate America to the founder of “Menopause in Color” illustrates a growing movement to change that.
Through Brilliance by Brown, Heidi Brown has amplified the products and services of dozens of founders of color in the beauty and wellness space.
“There was no centralized platform for Black beauty and wellness founders and proprietors to feature their products – which, in turn, means it was difficult, if not impossible, for Black women to find the products designed for our needs.
Our skin is our largest organ,” Heidi continues. “I think we forget that. We need products with peptides, ceramides, and other nutrients to promote hydration and curb skin elasticity, especially as women on the menopausal journey.”
Menopause, a natural phase of life, has often been a topic shrouded in silence and stigma. Dr. Taniqua Miller, a former academic and a visionary in gynecology, is on a mission to change that. Dr. Miller is going beyond the textbook to address the unique needs of BIPOC, queer, fat, and disabled women in this transformative life phase through her new telehealth offering, “Revival”.
